On Garden Bloggers Bloom Day this May, I am just happy to be gardening again after four years of being absent from this place. It's not the same garden as it was, so there is a WHOLE LOT of mulch showing and not as many flowers. The absence has given me a chance to start fresh here though and build new beds and new paths which is always fun for gardeners!

Unknown Iris |

Sedum 'Angelina' and Nepeta 'Walkers Low' |
The vegetables have been planted. Hopefully they survived the 45 degree mornings and the monsoon (a bit of an exaggeration) we had last week. We are not used to that here in south east Virginia at this time of year.

Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt' They burnt up in the 90 degrees temps earlier in May. This is the last one:( |

Verbena 'Homestead Purple' |

Spirea 'Double Play' and Verbena 'Bonaresis' |
Spirea 'Super Star'
Pots and annuals will be tiding me over this summer as the new perennials and shrubs grow.
